Introduction to NCNU

Founded in 1995 in central Taiwan, National Chi Nan University blends classical Chinese heritage with a global perspective. The university is led by President Professor Dr. Dong-Sing Wuu.

  • International Presence: NCNU boasts the highest ratio of international students in Taiwan, welcoming 620 international students from 25 countries each year.

Academics and Research

NCNU is composed of 6 colleges, 2 centers, and 8 research institutes, offering a total of 80 degree programs (26 undergraduate and 49 postgraduate).

International Programs

Technology Short Term Camp

A two-week program where participants learn practical Mandarin and experience Taiwanese culture for a cost of NT$60,000.

International Foundation Program

A "1+4 Program" that dedicates the first year to Mandarin learning and cultural adaptation before students begin their four-year undergraduate studies.

BAITIA (Business and IT Interdisciplinary Approach)

A fully English-taught Master's degree program with a research-oriented curriculum.

Internship Opportunities

Supported by grants from the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) to subsidize international students' study, research, and internships in Taiwan.

Campus and Facilities

The university is situated on an eco-rich campus that promotes sustainability. On-campus facilities include a cafeteria, a clinic, dormitories, and an indoor swimming pool.
